Summer’s Almost Over! Book Your Float Trip Today

Book Your Float Trip as Summer Ends

Remember all those fun things you were going to do this summer? I hate to break it to you, but summer is almost over. Our Facebook feeds will soon be full of back-to-school photos, and we’ll be ordering pumpkin lattes before you know it. You need to organize a float trip down the San Marcos River today. And when we say, “organize” a float trip, all that means is that you need to pick a date. Let Tour Austin figure out the rest of the details.

Here’s what you need to do:

Text your friends and pick a weekend. Our River Tubing Tours depart downtown Austin every Saturday.

Buy some sunscreen and drinks. We’ll provide the ice and cooler.

Check-in at the Austin Visitor Center in 602 East 4thStreet in downtown Austin at 10:30 on the day of your tour.

Don’t you wish organizing events was always this easy? Plus, you will receive a day full of entertainment for only $49. Tour Austin is one of the best deals for a float trip in the Austin area.

Here’s what we will do for you. Tour Austin’s staff will drive your party to the San Marcos River. We will give you a tube to use for the day. Because Tour Austin knows how to be a good host, we will provide coolers and ice for your group’s beverages and snacks.

Once we are at the drop-off point, we will help you unload. Don’t worry about your valuables. We will keep them safe while you are floating down the river. Our guides will lead you down the river for approximately 3 to 3 ½ hours. After a day of fun and relaxation, we will drive you back to Austin to the Visitor’s Center at 5 p.m.

Are you getting excited? You should be. The San Marcos River is extremely popular.

There’s always one in every crowd who wrinkles up his or her nose at the idea of spending a day on a river. Even your most discriminating friend will be pleasantly surprised when they see the clear water from this spring-fed, non-smelly river.

Maybe on past float trips, you have glided through some sketchy areas. Most of the riverbanks along the San Marcos River will remind you of an outdoor preserve. Think native rice plants and huge elephant ears. Think of tree-lined banks.

Perhaps you aren’t too keen about spending the entire day out in the Texas sun. It is hot out there, but the water of the San Marcos River will be a cool 72 degrees. Wear a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreens to protect yourself from the sun’s rays, but you will feel comfortable splashing in the freshwater.

Most of the time, our Texas weather cooperates with our float trips. At times, though, we may need to cancel our tour because of heavy rain, cold temperatures, or strong winds. We will let everyone in your party know as soon as possible if we decide to cancel. Just look for our email and text. Of course, we will give you a full refund in the event we deem it appropriate to cancel because of the weather.

We also know that your schedule sometimes changes. If you need to cancel your float trip or reduce the number of participants, let us know at least 48-hours before your tour time, and we will issue you a refund. Sorry, but we are unable to give refunds for float trips canceled within 48 hours of the tour.

While we are on the subject of “fine print,” our Float Trip Tours are only for guests who are 18 and older. You will be required to sign a waiver of liability.

Those who are legally able to consume alcohol are free to do so on this trip. Please make sure your drinks, whether they are alcoholic or not, are NOT contained in Styrofoam or glass. Styrofoam and glass containers are not allowed along the San Marcos River.

We at Tour Austin would love to show you around our city. Whether you are a visitor or lucky enough to call Austin your home, let Tour Austin give you a view of the city that you never expected.

Call us now and make a reservation.
